Description

Colorado, Alamosa Campground is on the Alamosa River 4.5 miles above Terrace Reservoir Dam. The campground does not have an address. The address used here is a general park address. However, the Campbase map used here is accurate.

Direction:

To get to Alamosa C. G. from Monte Vista, follow Hwy 15 south to the junction of Forest Road 250. Turn west and go approx. 12 miles west on FR 250 to the campground.

From La Jara, follow Hwy 15 west to Centro. Where the road turns right, immediately make a sharp left and follow FS road 255 to its junction with FS 250 and follow FS 250 to the campground.

Comment

Alamosa Campground is on the Alamosa River 4.5 miles above Terrace Reservoir Dam. There are 5 campsites, one is pull through, with tables and fireplaces, and ample parking. At present, there are no restrooms, vault type toilets will be installed later this summer. There is no water available, bring your own. There is public fishing at Terrace Reservoir and trail access to Alamosa-Rock Creek and Big Lake Trails. Maneuvering space for large trailers and recreation vehicles is limited. Naturally acidic water severely limits fishing in the Alamosa river between Stunner Campground and Terrace Reservoir.

The CAMPGROUND HAS A RESTROOM- NO WATER, NO TRASH SERVICE- PACK IN- PACK OUT!!. This campground stays open until weather closes it.
