Description

California, Calaveras Big Trees State Park has two campgrounds.  North Grove Campground and Oak Hollow Campground.

The park is northeast of Stockton, four miles northeast of Arnold on Highway 4.  On the right side.

Comment

Calaveras Big Trees State Park link.  The campgrounds are seasonal.  North Grove Campground is located near the Visitors Center.  Oak Hollow Campground is located approximately one mile from the information center on Walter Smith Memorial Highway.  RV's up to 30 feet can be accommodated in most camp spots.  A limited number of pull through camp spots are available.  

The campgrounds are located in a natural Sequoia forest setting.  The trees are giants with some reaching 320 feet tall and 33 feet around.  There is a total of 129 mixed RV and tent campsites.  There is a visitors center in the park.  The park features the North Grove of Giant Sequoias and the "Big Stump".  The Big Stump has been a tourist attraction for over 150 years.

Group camp sites are available.

The maximum RV legnth is 30 feet.  The campground is better suited for Campervans.

Both campgrounds are closed between November and April.
