Comment

Coastal Dunes RV Park is open all year with 230 RV and tent camp spots.  Most spots are grassy with shade trees.  When the grass is wet or damp it will track into your vehicle. The campground is adjacent to the railroad tracks and there is some railroad noise.  Extended stay is also at this RV park.  Big rigs up to 45 feet can be accommodated.  One camp section of the campground does not have fire rings or barbeques.  Full hookups, restrooms, showers, and a laundry room ar available.  A camp store and dump station are not available.  WiFi is also not available however, cellular service was excellent.  Ice and firewood were not available for sale at the campground.  The campground does have a pool and a basketball court.   Camp roads are all paved while parking pads are grass.  The campground is located across the highway from Pismo State Beach.  Beach access is not within a reasonable walking distance.  Fuel and services are available in the town of Oceano, approximately one mile north.  Highway 1 does pass the front of the campground.  Hiker and biker sites are available for one night only.  Click here for campground reservations.  Reservations are best made on-line.  The septic connection is a bit different, see the photos tab for a picture of the connection.  It's a twist on connection.  The campground is in a good central location however, it's located across Highway 1 without direct beach access.  There are other campgrounds in the area with better beach access.

Local Rcreation:

Off-roading and ATV rental.  There are numerous ATV rental companies in the area near the campground.  ATV riding is popular in the Pismo Dunes.

The Monarch Butterfly Grove is just one mile north on Highway 1.  The best time to see the butterfly's is October through December.  It's free to walk through the grove and parking is also free.

Pismo Beach Golf Course is located approximately one mile north on Highway 1 near the state park beach entrance.

Old downtown Pismo Beach has a pier and restaurant row.  It's a good place to visit.
