Cold River Campground is a seasonal campground being open from May through October.  The campground has approximately 75 camp spots for RVs or tenting.  Large and small cabins are also available.  A small camp store is also available that has ice and firewood.  The campground is in a good location for seeing the Maine sights in he Bangor area.  There are no significant services available near the campground.  However, downtown Bangor is just a short 5 mile drive.  Bangor has restaurants, markets, banks, and fuel.  The park does not have direct access to the Penobscot River.

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items.

The campground is within walking distance from the Penobscot River.  The Penobscot River has salmon fishing and water activities.
