Description

California, Convict Lake Campground sits at 7500 ft next to Convict Lake.  About 300 feet from the campground, Convict Lake is a small mountain lake that is suitable for small electric fishing boats.

Convict Lake Campground is located 10 miles south of Mammoth Lakes, or 34 miles north of Bishop, just off highway 395. Located in the Inyo National Forest.  
 
There is also a resort located at the lake.  Convict Lake Resort has Cabins, showers, laundry, market, boat rentals, and a restaurant.

Convict Lake Campground.  This seasonal campground opens in April.  It's dry camping however, there is a dump station and drinking water available.  The campground has both reservable and first-come camp spots.  Sites can be reserved through www.reserveamerica.com.

The Sierra Nevada Mountains are known for exceptional outdoor recreation including extensive hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding trails, boating, and fishing.

Bears frequent this campground.

Most spots do not have shade.

Convict Lake Resort is located next to the campground at 2000 Convict Lake Road.  There are cabins available at the resort.  Please call 800-992-2260.  The resort also has a restaurant, market, and laundry.  Other than the resort, there are no amenities in or near the campground.  The campground is in a wilderness area.  The town of Mammoth Lakes has the closest amenities and is located approximately 10 miles north on highway 395.
