Comment
Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve is a vast volcanic area of lava flows with scattered islands of cinder cones and sagebrush. The campground is called Lava Flow Campground.
Craters of the Moon Campground is open May through November. Closure dates may vary depending upon snow conditions. The campground is seasonal. The campground is located among the lava flows. All camp spots are first-come, first-served. Reservations are not available.
Wood fires are prohibited in the park.
No dump station.
The self-registration campground has 42 tent and RV campsites. There are no hookups, but water and restrooms (no showers) are available.
Commercial campgrounds with hookups are available in Arco, Idaho, 18 miles east of the Monument. Try the
Mountain View RV park.
Pets are ok in the campground only.
