DeMotte Campground has 38 tent and RV camp spots.  Approximately half of the sites are reservable through www.recreation.gov.  Other camp spots are first-come, first-served.  The campground is the second closest campground to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.  It does not have hookups or showers.  Vault toilets are available. No cell service is available.  A phone is available at the North Rim Country Store.  Camp roads and pads are crushed rock.  The campground is located in a natural pine forest with shaded camp spots.  Trips into the Grand Canyon are popular from this camp site that is 8 miles outside the national parks entrance.  The actual rim of the canyon is approximately 20 miles.  The Kaibab Lodge is within walking distance from the campground.  The lodge has a gift shop and a restaurant.  A pay phone is also available at the lodge.  Fuel is available just across the highway from the campground.  RV's up to 35 feet can be accommodated.  Camp spots are level and very large.  Some spots have a level tent box.   DeMotte Campground is generally open from May through October.  The campground is located at 8,700 feet.  Also see our Grand Canyon National Park information page for additional details.
