Directions:

Exit Interstate 10 and proceed south on N. Indian Canyon.  After approximately five miles jog right and then left onto S Palm Canyon and continue south through the downtown Palm Springs area.  After approximately 5 more miles, turn right on W. Mesquite Av.  The campground will be on the left side in one block.

Comment

Happy Traveler RV Park is simply the closest campground to downtown Palm Springs.  Within walking distance to all shops and restaurants in downtown Palm Springs.  130 RV sites with full hookups.  No shade, no fire rings, no BBQ.  There are paved camp roads and paved parking pads.  The location is comfortable in the winter but, very hot during the summer months.  There are several activities in the area including the Palm Springs Tram, the Aircraft museum, and downtown Palm Springs.  Campground reservations are available at the campgrounds web site listed here.

Make sure you visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.  It's a must see activity for every Palm Springs visitor.  The tram will take you from the valley floor around 2000 feet to the top of Chino Canyon at the Mountain Station – elevation 8,516.  There are two restaurants at the top of the tram.  It's quite an adventure.  Visit the website for times and details. 

THINGS TO DO:

There is a fantastic FREE bus system that stops near the campground every 15 minutes and runs a loop through the downtown Palm Springs area.  It's called Buzz Palm Springs.  Their web site is here: http://new.buzzps.com.
