Comment

Jumbo Rocks is a bueatiful campground nestled at the foot of huge boulders in a desert setting.  Most of the rocks can be climbed on easily.  It's quite a bit of fun hiking and climbing on the boulders.  Be careful no to get in over your head.

Jumbo Rocks is one of the few campgrounds in Joshua Tree National Park that has spaces large enough for the bigger RV's.  Due to camp site and road restrictions, Campbase recommends RV's no larger than 32 feet.  At Jumbo Rocks the majority of the spots are sized for cars and trucks.  The number of spots for large RV's is limited.

Just about everything in Joshua Tree stings, bites, strikes or sticks.  Bring your tweezers for removing stingers and stickers.  Bees can be aggressive especially if there is water or moisture to attract them.

There are no concessions in or near this campground.  The closest concessions is in Twenty Nine Palms.  There is no water, Ice or wood available.  All this must be brought into the park.

There is no cell, text, WiFi, or TV service in this campground.  In general, there is no cell service in the entire park.

Water stations in the park are limited.  Water is only available at the Oasis Visitor Center, Indian Cove Ranger Station, West Entrance, Black Rock campground and Cottonwood campgrounds.  During the summer months, make sure you bring more water than you think you'll need.

Campbase does not recommend road biking on the parks highways.  The roads are narrow and there are no bike lanes.  Mountain biking is only allowed on the parks dirt roads or paved roads.  Off road biking is not allowed.

The Skull Rock Trailhead starts from inside the campground.  It's a 1.7 mile walk, one way.
