Description

Arizona, Kartchner Caverns State Park has easy freeway access.  

Directions:

The campground is located 9 miles south of Interstate-10 on State Highway 90.  Take exit 302.  

The campground does not have an address however, the Campbase map provided here is accurate for the location of the campground.  

Comment

Kartchner Caverns State Park is open all year with 62 group, tent, and RV camp spots.  Four camp cabins are also available.  All camp sites have electricity and water.  Ceptic is not available however, there is a dump station.  Camp spots are large enough to accommodate all sizes of RV's.  Sites vary in length from 30 to 60 feet.  Big rigs can be accommodated.  Most camp spots have some shade.  Each site is very large and can accommodate pop-outs.  50amp connections are available only at the pull through camp spots.  The campground is located within an easy walk to the caverns.  Camp roads and parking pads are all paved.  This is a wilderness area with the closest town being Benson, approximately 10 miles away.  There are no services in the area near the campground.  The prime season for this campground is October through April.  Summer tempratures tend to be extreme.  Fire rings are not available.

Local Recreation:

The Kaetchner Caverns tours are within a short walking distance from the campground.  There is an information center where tours can be arranged.  Each tour lasts approximately two hours.  They are really quite interesting.
