Megunticook Campground is a seasional campground being open from May 15th through October 15th.  The campground has cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots.  Located right on the ocean, it's the only campground in the area with beach access.  The beach near the campground is a rugged rocky coast line.  Beach access is available but, most camp spots do not have an ocean view.  All camp spots have large shade trees.  Full hookups are available at most sites.  There are also large pull through spots available.  The park also has a large pool for the kids.  Restrooms with hot showers are available.

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items.

Local Recreation:

Road touring along Highway-1 to the North and South of the campground has some spectacular Maine costal views.  There are costal villages, islands, and lighthouses to see.  Many of the villages have lobster pounds where you can stop and enjoy a fresh Maine lobster.
