Description

California, Morro Strand State Beach has easy access from Highway 1.

Directions:

Morro Strand S.B. runs parallel to Highway One on the far north end of the town of Morro Bay.  The campground is accessed from highway 1 using Yerba Buena Street in north Morro Bay.  Use 24th street in Cayucos to access the northern part of the beach.

Note 1:  at Campbase we have seen several conflicting street names and addresses for the campground.  Most likely, the campground does not actually have an address.  We are going with 143 Trinidad Street.

Note 2:  The Campbase map provided here is accurate for the location of the campground.  Our map pin shows where the campground is located.

Comment

Morro Strand State Beach is open all year with 58 RV and tent sites.  The largest RV allowed is 40 feet.  The campground is right on the ocean and beach near Morro Rock.    RV sites include full hookups (50 and 30 amps) and space for vehicles adjacent to the RVs.  The campground has restrooms but, does not have showers.  Tent sites are available on the beach side of the campground.  Park roads and parking pads are all paved.  Drinking water is available.  Most cell phones have service from the campground.  WiFi is not available.  Restaurants, fuel and markets are available just outside the campground.

The Morro Bay Trolley stops at the campground during the summer months.  It runs to most points in the city of Morro Bay.  Just $3 for an all day pass.  Quite a deal actually.

There is also a paved bike path that runs from the campground over to the Morro Rock area and the marina.

Off roading is not allowed on the beach or from the campground.

DO NOT CONFUSE THIS PARK WITH MORRO BAY STATE BEACH.
