Northport Campground is open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day with cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots.  Big rigs to approximately 50 feet can be accommodated.  This is a quiet peaceful campground located along a pristine section of the Maine coastline.  The campground has pull through and full hookup camp spots in addition to tent sites and cabins.  Restrooms with showers are available.  Camp spots are all grass parking pads.  Some spots have shade trees.  The closest services can be found in Belfast located approximately three miles north of the campground on Highway-1.  Belfast has restaurants, shops, markets, and fuel.

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticksbees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosuresrepellantsbug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items.

Please note:  the Campbase pictures provided here were taken on a cloudy/foggy day in Maine which is often the case along the Maine coast.  The pictures do not adequately reflect how nice the campground is.

Local Recreation:

Acadia National Park is located approximately 40 miles north of this campground.  It's a great drive up the coast into Acadia.  Take your time, enjoy the ride and small villages along the route.

Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge are located just 25 miles north of the campground on Highway-1.   The Penobscot Narrows Bridge has an observation tower that is quite interesting.  Make sure you are not afraid of heights.  It's quite a tall platform with an extensive view.
