Potwisha Campground, Sequoia National Park is open all year with 42 camp spots.  None of the campgrounds in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks have hookups.  Pull-a-round camp spots are available for larger RV's  Campbase estimates that rigs up to approximately 30 feet can be accommodated.  There is no cellular service from the campground however, a pay phone is available.  The campground is located along the Kaweah River with river access.  Use caution, the water can move rapidly during certain times of year.  Bears are known to visit the campground and bear boxes are available at every camp spot.  Most Camp spots have shade trees.  The campground is located near the southern edge of the Sequoia National Park.  The nearest big Sequoia Trees are located approximately 30 miles north of this campground.  Highway-198 past the campground is not suited for RV's larger than 22 feet.  Vehicle restrictions are posted on the highway.  If you have a big rig it's best to enter the national park on Highway-180 from Fresno.

There are three gas stations in the National Park.  Kings Canyon Lodge, Hume Lake, and Stony Creek Village.  Diesel is available at the last two.  The NPS map indicates that fuel is available at Grant Grove Village however, Campbase could not find a gas station at that location.  Campbase recommends filling your vehicles fuel tank before entering the National Park.

Dump stations are located at Potwisha, Lodgepole, Princess, and Dorst Creek campgrounds.  There is a $10 fee to dump at some locations.

Bear boxes are provided in every campground in the park.  All food must be stored in these boxes unless it's kept out of sight in an RV.  Food may not be left out at any time.  Additional bear rules and information can be found at the restrooms.  Do not feed the bears at any time.

Pets are ok in the campground but not allowed on most trails.
