First, let me say, "you found it".  This is a really special place.  Let's keep this one to our selves.  Only tell your very best friends about this campground.

Red Canyon Campground is situated in a ponderosa pine forest at Red Canyon.  It's located along the Utah State Scenic Byway, Highway 12.  The campground is surrounded by Pink Claron Limestone formations similar to those found in Bryce Canyon National Park( see the Photos tab).  The campground looks like it is brand new.  The roads and camp spots are all well done.  Restrooms and showers are excellent, see the PHOTOS tab for pictures.  There is a dump station, drinking water and a group area.  Most camp spots are level with shade trees.  There are 37 RV and tent camp spots available.  All spots have a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ.

Be watchful:  There are rattle snakes and scorpions in the area.   It's also bear country so, store food appropriately.

Local Recreation:

Hiking is popular in the Dixie National Forest around the red rocks in Red Canyon

Bicycling on the bike path that passes the campground is a popular activity.  The bike path is paved and runs for 5 miles.  It's planned to eventually take riders into Bryce Canyon National Park.  The Bryce Canyon section was being built in the summer of 2015.  It looks wonderful.  It's going to be an amazing bike ride when it's finished.

Road touring is popular on the Scenic Biway that passes the campground.

Bryce Canyon National Park is just 8 miles from the campground.

Note:  There appears to be TWO Red Canyon Campgrounds in Utah.  This is the National Forest one near Panguitch, Utah.
