Directions:

From the intersection of Sierra Way and Kernville Road in downtown Kernville, take Sierra Way North for approximately one mile.  The campground will be on the left side of Sierra Way.  It's the driveway after the Camp James entrance.

Rivernook Campground is open all year with tent and RV camp spots.  RV's up to 40 feet can be accommodated.  Waterfront camp spots and water access are available.  Most camp spots are level with shade trees.  Fire rings are rock without a grill grating.    Camp roads are all crushed rock and parking pads are crushed rock.  Restrooms, showers, drinking water and a dump station are available.  Rivernook is one of the best RV campgrounds in the area of Lake Isabella and Kernville. 

Local Recreation:

Road touring and sightseeing are popular in Kernville and the Sequoia National Forest.  Sierra Way leads right up into the national forest.
 
Boating and fishing on Lake Isabella.  Lake levels are low due to the California drought but, fishing is still great.  With all the trees in the water, water skiing is not recommended.  
 
The Kern River runs past the campground.  Rafting, tubing, and fly fishing are popular.  There are several adventure outfitters in Kernville.  The high season for rafting is mid summer.    Fly fishing guides are also available in Kernville.  In Kernville you will find several restaurants and souvenir shops.
