The Sweetwater Regional Park Campground is open all year with 112 RV and tent camp spots available.  Full hookups and electric with water sites are available.  The park has access to horse and bike trails.  Horse corrals are available at some camp spots.  It’s actually well suited for equestrian activities.  The park is on Sweetwater Reservoir however there is no direct access to the water due the a long fence.  There are no services like fuel, markets, or restaurants in the immediate area near the campground.  The small town of Bonita located nearby has all the essential services.  The park is located on the boarder of a natural grassland wilderness and has a remote/campey feel.  One of the major attractions at the park is the pavilion. This covered structure and its kitchen facilities are especially suited for group campers.  Not all camp spots have a fire ring.  The Sweetwater Reservoir is not accessible for boating or swimming.  It’s a no body contact lake.

The park has two separate camping loops.  North Loop and South Loop.  The South Loop has fire rings and large shade trees.  In addition, the South Loop has the horse corrals.  The newer Camping area is North Loop.

Firewood is available at the park for $5.

Local Recreation:

Horsebacking is popular in this area due to the excellent horse trails that run around Sweetwater Reservoir.  Horse corrals are also provided at some camp spots.

Mountain biking and hiking is popular on the numerous trails.

The Bonita Golf Course is located approximately one mile from the campground.  It’s walking distance if you are fit.
