Tugman State Park Campground is open all year with approximately 100 RV hiker/biker, and tent camp spots.  16 yurts are also available.  Big rigs up to approximately 50 feet.  Reservations are available by clicking the link provided here.  The campground is located in a tall stand in of pine trees near Eel Lake.  Camp spots are not on the lake  but, there is lake access.  Across the highway is the Oregon Sand Dunes.  The campground is primarily used by fishermen and kayakers on Eel Lake.  There are no services available near the campground.  Most services can be found in the small town of Winchester Bay where you will find markets and restaurants.  Winchester Bay is located approximately 3 miles north on Highway-101.

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hatinsect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.

Local Recreation:

Eel Lake is located at the campground.  It's a small lake with a 10mph speed limit so it's not recommended for large boats.  This is primarily a fishing and kayaking lake.

The campground is located Just a few miles from Umpqua Beach.  Umpqua Beach is a large wide sand beach, perfect for beachcombing.  Driftwood washes up on the sand.  Please see our photos tab for pictures.

Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area.  The park is across the highway from the Oregon Sand Dunes. However, the park is not generally used by off readers.  It's more of a kayaking and boating park.  Please see our photos tab for pictures of the sand dunes.

Umpqua River Lighthouse is located near the campground.  There is a small museum there with some exhibits to look through.

Winchester Point and the Umpqua River is located just a short distance from the campground.  The Salmon Harbor Marina has a launch ramp and boat slips available.  Fishing is the most popular activity from this location.  Charter boats are available
