Description
Oregon, Abbott Creek Campground, Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The campground does not have an address however, the Campbase map used here is accurate for the location of the campground.
Directions:
From Medford, OR take Highway 62 towards the town of Prospect. Continue on Highway 62 about 6.5 miles north of Prospect. Turn north (left) on Forest Road 68 and continue about 3.5 miles to the entrance for Abbott Creek Campground to the west (left).
Comment
Abbott Creek Campground is open from May through October with 25 RV and tent camp sites. This remote and picturesque campground in the midst of old growth forest runs along Abbott Creek but is within walking distance to many other creeks and rivers, including the Woodruff Creek and the Rogue River. Quiet and secluded campsites, there are many group sites for family and friends. Amazing fishing locations, there are many hiking trails with easy access. Sites to see include Rogue Gorge and Natural Bridge.
The sites in this campground are located along Abbot Creek. There is easy access to an extensive OHV trail system nearby at Woodruff OHV Play Area.
The Upper Rogue River Trail may be accessed nearby at the Upper Rogue River - Woodruff Bridge Trailhead.
Drinking water is not available at the campground.
All campsite parking areas are graveled and range from 25 to 60 feet in length.
All campground access roads are paved.
There are no pull-through sites available.
This campground does have mosquitoes. Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance. Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hat, insect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in. If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location.
