Description

Wyoming, Atherton Creek Campground.  The campground is located on the North side of Lower Slide Lake.

Directions:

From the small town of Kelly, take Lower Gros Venture road Northbound.  After about one mile take a right onto Gros Venture Ride.  Follow it for several miles to Lower Slide Lake and the campground will be there.

Atherton Creek Campground is located on Lower Slide Lake. This is a beautiful and quiet camping location where you can quickly and easily get away from the hustle and bustle of Grand Teton National Park and Jackson, but still access those places in less than 30 minutes if you wish. The road access is paved up to the campground and winds through aspen stands with gorgeous views of the Gros Ventre River. Boat and fishing access are excellent for Lower Slide Lake, allowing for great trout fishing and peaceful evenings floating around looking for wildlife.

Campsites are a mix of reservable and first come, first served. Reservable sites are available via Recreation.gov(2 cars maximum).

Campground will have water turned off, bathrooms locked, and no more trash service after closure date.  However, the gate will not be closed, and campground can still be used for no fee when all amenities are turned off. If any amenities are left on, fees will still be collected. If only water is on, fees are 1/2 price. Check the kiosk at the campground for more information. Campground closes on the 22nd of September, annually.

This area does get heavy snow during the winter months.
