California, Barstow Calico KOA.  The campground has easy access from Interstate-15.

Directions

Located along the I-15 freeway with easy access from the highway.  7 mi East of Barstow on I-15. Exit Ghost Town Rd L to service station then L 1/4 mile to the campground.
 
From I-40 take Daggett / Yermo Road also called A st. Exit #7, Go 4 mi North to Outer Hwy 15N and turn left.  The turn is on the far side of the I-15 freeway.  The camp ground will be about half a mile up on the right.

Located in California's high desert, the Barstow Calico KOA is located midway between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, alongside Interstate 15.  Kids can play on the fun bikes, playground, climbing wall or in the camp pool. Four-legged guests can discover acres of desert to explore. Off-roaders will find trails of scenic interest and various experience levels in the Calico Hills just 3 miles from the park.  It is also a popular area for hiking and rock hounding, as well as a playground for ATVs. Day trips include Inspiration Canyon with its concentration of petroglyphs thought to date back as far as 12,000 years, or to Afton Canyon, often referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the Mojave," for its beauty and wildlife.  Big rigs to just about any size can be accommodated.  
 
The campground has a free shuttle to the Calico Ghost Town that is approximately three miles from the campground.  The campground is also close to the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Barstow.  Restaurants and gas stations are located within a mile of the campground.
 
Make sure to stop at Peggy Sue's 50's Diner.  It's a popular 50's diner located on Route 66.  
 
Camp roads and parking pads are crushed gravel.
 
Open all year.  It occasionally snows here in the winter months.  This is the California's high desert and temperatures reach into the 100's during the summer months.
 
The campground is located near Interstate-15 so there is some freeway noise.
