Bootjack Campground, Mount Tamalpais State Park, is open all year with just 15 Walk-In tent camp spots, no RVing.  The campground has restrooms and drinking water.  Each camp spot has a picnic table, BBQ, and fire ring.  Most camp spots have shade trees.  The camp spots are located on a hill but most spots have level tent pads.  Hiking trails pass near or start at the campground.  This is a wilderness area without any services near the campground.  The closest services may be in Mill Valley approximately 15 miles east on Panoramic Highway.  Also, No cell service.  Firewood is usually available for purchase in the park.  Ice is not available.  Fog is common in this campground.

The campground is located in a beautiful and natural forest setting near the Muir Woods National Monument where you will find a tall grove of Redwood trees.  The area around the campground is heavily forested.

Campbase does not recommend road bicycling in this area due to the lack of bike lanes and blind corners.
