Description

California, Candlestick RV Park.  The park has easy access from Interstate-101 and is the only RV park in downtown San Francisco.

Directions:

Northbound on Interstate-101 in San Francisco, take the Harney Way exit and proceed along the shoreline.  Follow the street around to the right.  Stay right and it turns into Hunters Point Expressway(Not really an expressway at all).  Follow it around past a park and it turns into Gilman Way.  The park will be on the right side.

Please see the Campbase map tab provided here.

Candlestick RV Park is open all year with 184 RV and Tent camp spots. Most spots are just large enough or an RV and one tow vehicle.  Not a lot of space but, remember it's in the big city.  The park has a laundry, camp store, restroom, and showers.  The restroom was nice and clean.  Park roads and pads are all paved.  Most camp spots do not have shade.  Tent campers have a small grass area for setting up tents.  The park has a shuttle bus that can take you a short distance into downtown.  RV storage is available on site.

Located across the street from the RV park was Candlestick Baseball Park.  As of 2017, Candlestick Baseball Park had been removed and was in the process of being replaced by a large mall.  The mall should be open by 2019.

Local Recreation:

AT&T Park is located just 4 miles from the campground.  It's right up third street which passes near the campground.

Visit the Golden Gate Bridge.  There are several ways to visit the bridge, by private vehicle, bus, or bicycle.  To take a bus contact The Big Bus at www.bigbustours.com.  There is also the Hop on, Hop off bus tours.  If you will be using your own vehicle, there is a great View Park on the north side of the bridge.  From San Francisco, cross over the bridge and the parking lot is the first exit.  There is usually enough space to park.  See a bike ride video across the bridge, click here.

Visit The Fishermans Warf.  There are shops and restaurants.  There's lots to do in the area near the warf.
