Description

California, Furnace Creek Campground, Death Valley National Park, is in a central location in Death Valley National Park.  It is popular for RV and group camping; tent sites are also available.  A visitor center, bike path, hiking trails and an abandoned borax mine are nearby.

Directions:

From Los Angeles take the I-15 freeway east to the town of Baker.  Exit onto highway 127 north.  In approximately 60 miles take highway 190 west.  Continue on highway 190 for approximately 35 miles until you reach Furnice Creek.  Highway I-15, 127, and 190 are suited for large RV's.  Furnace Creek Campground is a half-mile north of Furnace Creek Visitor Center on State Highway 190.

Furnace Creek, Death Valley National Park is truely the nicest camping location in the Furnace Creek area.  The campground is open all year with tent and RV camp spots are available.  The campground has Full Hookups available but, only at select camp sites.  Many of the sites have some shade available.  The campground is close to the information center and within walking distance to Furnice Creek Ranch and the golf course.  This is a good location for touring the entire park.  The campground has 136 RV and tent camp spots.  Big rigs up to 45 feet can be accomodated in some spots. 

Local Recreation:
 
While visiting Death Valley National Park make sure you visit the following sights:  Artist's Drive, Badwater Basin, Dante's View, Devils Golf Course, Furnace Creek Ranch golf course, Harmony Borax Works, Sand dunes, Scotty's Castle, Racetrack Plays, Ubehebe Crater, and Ghost Towns. 
 
The Furnice Creek Village has golf, restaurants, bicycle rental, fuel, and a small gift shop/market.  The parks Visitors center is also at Furnace Creek so it's definitely worth the visit.  At the Furnace Creek Inn there are Jeep rentals available. 
 
Pahrump, Nevada is located 50 miles outside the park.  Pahrump has several gaming casinos.
 
To the south of the park is Tacopa Hot Springs.  There are several bath houses in the small town of Tacopa.  A daily pass is usually less than $10.  Leave your swim suits at home, they are not allowed in the natural pools.
