Local Recreation:

Just a few miles north of the campground is the small town of Julian.  It’s a great spot to spend the day walking around the shops and restaurants.  There are pie shops that usually make the best apple pies available.  Try Moms pie shop.  There are also shops selling honey, dried fruits, and apple cider.  There is something for the whole family.  Make sure you bring home some bread from the local bakeries.

Lake Cuyamaca has fishing and boating for small boats.  Swimming is not allowed in the lake but, there is a marina with small boat rentals.

The Anza Borrego Desert State Park is located approximately 25 miles from the campground.  It’s a great drive with interesting things to do in and around the park.  Please see our Anza Borrego Desert State Park Page for more details.
