Directions:

Located 23 miles east of Placerville on Highway 50 and 29 miles north on Ice House Road (Forest Road 3) on the south side of Loon Lake.

Loon Lake Campground   The Loon Lake Campground and Trailhead is closed this season for reconstruction. The boatramp is open for day use only though Labor Day weekend and then it will close for construction. The water system will not be operational during this time. We recommend hikers and backpackers  utilize this as an opportunity to discover other areas and trails in the forest.  Contact Number: 530 644-2324

This is an active bear area.  Please use the bear box provided.  

The campground is seasional due to snow during the winter months.  Opens in June and closes in October.

The campground is located at 6,500 feet.
