California, Manker Flats Campground, Angelis National Forest., 6,000-foot elevation. 21 campsites.

Directions:

From Foothill Blvd. in Claremont, take Mills Ave. until it turns into Mt. Baldy Road. Drive 12 miles north on Mt. Baldy Rd. passed Mt. Baldy Village to the campground on the right side. (Note: Foothill can be reached by taking Mountain Ave. north from the 10 freeway). 

Note:  roads near the campground are winding and some turns are 5 miles per hour.

Manker Flats Campground is a seasonal campground open from May through October with 21 camp spots available.  Tenting and small RV camp spots are available.  RV's up to 16 feet can be accommodated.  First-come, First-served, reservations are not available.  There are no services at the campground.  Some services are available at Mount Baldey Village.  Flush toilets, Fire rings, drinking water and picnic tables are available.  Fire ring burning restrictions may be in place.  Campground roads and pads are all paved.  All camp spots have tall pine shade trees. 

Local Recreation:

The primary activity from this campground is hiking Mt. Baldy.

Road bicycling is popular in this area on Glendora Mountain Road(GMR).  The road is hilly, and winding but, without much vehicle traffic.
