Seacliff State Beach Campground is open all year with 35 RV only camp spots, no tenting.  Regular camp spots have full hookups and include cable TV.  Overflow RV parking without hookups is also available. Seacliff State Beach is the location of the SS Palo Alto cement ship.  It is sunken just of the beach.  The ship is off limits and can not be entered.  Part of the pier leading to the ship is also closed until repairs can be made.  Please see the Campbase photos tab for pictures of the ship and pier.  All camp spots are right on the beach within just feet from the water.  Crashing wave sounds can be quite loud at this location so it might not be the best campground for light sleepers.  Cellular service was good from the campground.  Camp spots did not have any shade.  Trailers to 36ft and motor homes to 40ft can be accommodated.  The small town of Aptos is near the campground entrance and is within an easy walking distance from camp spots.  The small town has fuel, restsurants, pizza shop, and a small market.  It's very convenient.

Most camp spots can be reserved by calling (800) 444-7275.   The remaining available camp spots that are not reserved are sold by lottery every day.  Simply sign up for the lottery by 12:00 every day.  Be at the entrance station at 12:30 for the calling of the lottery winners names.  With luck, you will get a camp spot.

Local Recreation:

The parks beach is extensive and there is a pier with a sunken ship.  The SS Pablo Alto was purposefully sunk at this location in the 1930's and used for a short time as a tourist attraction.  In the 1930's tourists could board the ship however, that is no longer possible because it is unsafe.  Visitors now need to view the ship from the beach or pier.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Pier are just 10 miles north on Highway 1.  There are all kinds of things to eat, see, and do on the Boardwalk.  There are numerous carnival rides including a roller coaster.  The pier is also right there.  Please see the Campbase Photos tab for pictures of the Boardwalk.

Reservations can be made by calling 800-444-7275
