Description

California, Serrano Campground, San Bernardino National Forest, is located near the north shore of Big Bear Lake in the  San Bernadino National Forest.

Directions:

From I-10 in Redlands, take Highway 330 to Highway 18 in Running Springs. Continue east on Highway 18 at Big Bear Lake Dam, but do not cross the dam. Turn left onto highway 38 Continue on Highway 38 to North Shore Lane. Campground is 1/2 mile on left side of road across from Meadows Edge Day Use.

Note:  Roads into Big Bear are narrow, winding and steep.  The campground is at 7000 feet.  Getting into this area may be a challenge for larger RV's. However, large trucks do travel these highways on a daily basis.  The easiest access into this area may be from the Lucern Valley on Highway 18.

Serrano Campground has approximately 109 RV and tent camp spots.  The campground is near Big Bear Lake however, the campground does not provide access to the lake.  There are a limited number of full hookup spots at the campground.  The campground has a mix of sunny and shady camp spots.  Large pine trees provide the shade.  Fuel is available in nearby Big Bear along with all the essential services.  Firewood is available for sale at the campground entrance.  Most camp spots have parking pads over 50 feet deep.  Larger RV's can be accommodated.  Check with the campground for the maximum RV length.  
 
Across from the Serrano Campground, located on Big Bear Lake, is the Lighthouse Marina and RV Park.  This is a seasonal campground that is primarily open during the summer months.  The Marina has boat slips, a small camp store, Ice, bait, tackle, and propane.  The Lighthouse Marina opens May 1.  
 
Local Recreation:
 
There are several hiking trails near the campground including the Cougar Crest trail.  Hiking is popular from this campground.
 
Boating and fishing are popular on Big Bear lake.  There are several marinas with boat launch ramps near the campground.  The marinas have boat rentals and also lake tour boats.  The Miss Liberty tour boat is an especially popular day cruise.  Miss Liberty can be found at the Pine Knot Marina.  A pirate ship cruise is available from the Holloway's Marina.  Please see our pictures tab.
 
Vehicle off roading is popular in the area near the campground.
 
Downtown Big Bear has a trolley.  $5 for all day.  The trolley takes riders to most locations in the downtown Big Bear area.
