Mesa Campground is open year round however, it can be cold in the winter at 3,378 feet.  The campground is in a forested area so it's best to buy your fire wood at the campground.  Six dollars a bundle.  This is a State Recreation Area (SRA) and it has something to interest everyone including camping, boating, fishing, and hiking.  This is a good family spot to take the boat and the RV.  It's not a large lake and there is a limit to the number of boats on the lake during the summer months.  However, during the winter months the lake is relatively empty.  Boat slips are available in the marina.  The maximum camper length is 32 feet.  The maximum trailer length is 31 feet.  This is a large campground with 138 camp spots available.

At the marina there is a small shop that has fishing supplies, food, and drinks.  There is also a small cafe that is not open all year.

Invasive Mussel Inspections: (information below is from the parks web site)

All boats, personal watercraft, kayaks, canoes, sailboards, inflatables, and float tubes must undergo a mandatory inspection. This inspection is to prevent the spread of Quagga and Zebra Mussels. This invasive species threatens the recreational opportunities of the general public, the water delivery infrastructure of California, and the aquatic habitat of Silverwood Lake. These inspections are required to ensure the continued health and wellbeing of Silverwood Lake. Failure to allow inspection of any watercraft will result in the refusal to launch.  All boats must be clean, drained, and dry!  If you fail inspection you will not be able to launch for 7 days!
A valid fishing license must be displayed in order to fish in Silverwood Lake.  Fishing information can be found at www.dfg.ca.gov

Reservations can be found at Reserve America   The phone number is: (800)-444-7275.

The marinas phone number is: (760) 389-2299. Fishing licenses can be purchased at the marinas store.

Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash.

South on highway 138 is the town of Crestline.  It's a beautiful  drive however the roads are winding therefore, Campbase does not recommend taking an RV or trailer.  A smaller vehicle is best for this highway.  In the area of Crestline is also Lake Gregory and Lake Arrowhead.  Both locations have shops and restaurants.   The closest gas station is located approximately eight miles north on highway 138.  There are no services available in the immediate area around the campground.
