Description

Maine, Wilderness Edge Campground is located 20 minutes south of Baxter State Park.  

Directions:

In Millinocket: On route 16 / 157, proceed to the intersection of Central St. and Katahdin Avenue. From the intersection follow the signs to Baxter State Park.  Leaving Millinocket, the campground is on the right,  about a mile from the railroad under pass.

Wilderness Edge Campground has cabins, tenting, and RV camp spots.  There are 32 RV and 70 tent camp spots at this location. The campground is seasonal being open from May 6th thru Oct 16th.  

Depending on the time of year, many areas in Maine may have ticks, bees, and mosquitos.  Due to the potential problems posed by these insects it's best to arrive prepared should these insects become a nuisance.  Campbase recommends screen enclosures, repellants, bug zappers, and mesh net hats.  Please click these links to see our recommended items.
