Directions:

From downtown Charleston, go west on Cape Arago Highway for approximately three me mile.  Take a right onto Bastendorff Beach Road.  In approximately half a mile, the campground entrance will be on the right side.

Bastendorff Beach Campground, Coos County, is open all year with 99 RV, 25 tent, and yurt camp spots.  One pull through camp spot is available.  Electric spots have 30 Amps.  Full hookups are not available.  The park also has a dump station.  There are no services in the area around the campground.  Each camp spot has large pine trees for shade.  The campground does not have direct beach access.  The beach is just a short walk from the campground.  Pets are ok.  

The closest services are located in downtown Charleston where you will find restaurants and a laundry.  Charleston also has a marina with boat slips available.  A bit farther is the larger town of Coos Bay where all services are available including fuel and markets. 

This campground may have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hatinsect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

Photography is popular from this campground with forests, beaches, and great sunsets.  

Casino gaming is popular nearby in the town of Coos Bay.  The Mill Casino and Three Rivers Casino both have slot machines.  The Mill Casino is the larger of the two.

The Horsfall Sand Dunes Recreation Area is just 8 miles from the campground and is a popular area for off-roading and horsebacking.  There ar miles of dunes available to off-roaders.
