Description

California, Crowley Lake Campground.  The half mile campground access road is dirt and rough.  

Directions:

From Mcgee Creek, take Crowley Lake Drive Southbound for approximately one mile.  Take a right at the Crowley Lake Campground sign and travel just over 1/2 mile on the access dirt road.  The rod leads into the campground.

Crowley Lake Campground offers 47 RV or tent camp sites, maximum recommended RV length is 30 feet. Campbase recommends no larger than 40 feet because all spaces are very large.  All sites include a fire pit, picnic table and a lantern holder. No hook-up. Potable water is available according to the BLM however, Campbase only saw Non-potable water. Dump station fee is $12.00, no passes accepted.  There is no shade in the campground so bring your awnings.  Closest amenities are 2 miles south in Crowley, or 10 miles north in Mammoth Lakes.  This campground offers stunning views of Crowley Lake and the Glass Mountains to the east. To the west is the Sierra Nevada mountains and McGee Mountain and Canyon.  See the Campbase photos tab for pictures.  Popular activities include lake and stream fishing, boating, windsurfing, horseback riding, hiking, and wildlife viewing.  Camping for a period longer than 14 days at any one campground, not to exceed 28 days per calendar year.  Bears do visit this campground so bring that bear spray.

A California Campfire Permit is not required for fires within established fire rings in developed campgrounds. Seasonal fire restrictions may prohibit campfires during periods of high fire danger. Please check the BLM’s website for information on current fire restrictions or call the Bishop Field Office at (760) 872-5000.

 Reservations are not available, first-come, first-served.  The campground is seasional being open from May through October.  This area can get snow during the winter months.
