Comment

Donner Memorial State Park Campground.  The park actually consists of three camping areas.  They are Splitrock, Ridge, and Creek campgrounds.  All campgrounds have large Lodgepole and Jeffery pines.  None of the campgrounds have direct lake access.  Lake front camp spots are not available.  152 total camp spots can be reserved at www.parks.ca.gov or by calling (800) 444-7275.  Fuel, markets, and restaurants are located just outside the park.  RV's up to 28 feet can be accommodated.  Trailers up to 24 feet.  Bears do frequent the area so, store your food properly in the bear boxes provided.

Most campers will drive over to Donner Lake because access is not within an easy walk.  The lake is great for fishing, boating, or floating.  Many campers bring their float toys.  The water is warm during the summer months and there are several beaches.  A boat launch is available.  It's a really good family park with all the activities.

The campgrounds close for winter when the first freeze arrives in October.
