Emma Wood State Beach offers primitive camping for fully self-contained vehicles ONLY.  Tents are not permitted.  No water, restrooms, electricity, fire rings, phones or dump station are available.  The campground is open all year with 90 campsites, which are not level and may contain a mixture of asphalt, dirt, cobble and ocean debris.  Maximum vehicle length is 40 feet, due to small turnaround areas.   Railroad tracks and Highway 101 are adjacent to the campground which can be noisy.  Leashed dogs are permitted in the campground only, and are prohibited on the beach. The beach in front of the campground is rocky and may be difficult to walk on or access the ocean.  The campground is a bit remote being located approximately three miles from downtown Ventura.  There are no services available near the campground.  Camp spots are right on the beach.  Please see our Photos tab for pictures.

Reservations are available six months in advance.  Reservations are required and can be made on the web site here: https://www.reservecalifornia.com/Web/   Note: When Campbase visited the web site said there were No sites available however, the park was mostly empty.  See our Photos tab.

Downtown Ventura is located approximately three miles away.

Note: There is also a Emma Woods Group campground located in this area but does not use the same entrance.  Click the link to see datails.
