Description

Washington, Fort Flagler State Park Upper Campground.  The highway to the park is at some points narrow and winding but can accommodate most big rigs.  The park is quite a distance from Highway-101.

Directions:

From the town of Port Hadlock take Highway 116 and go South.  At this point the highway is called Oak Bay Road.  After approximately one mile Highway 116 takes a left turn onto Flagler Road.  (Flagler Road goes into the park)  After approximately a mile on Flagler Road it will cross a bridge onto Indian Island.  Continue for another mile and the highway will cross another bridge onto Marrowstone Island.  Continue for approximately four more miles and the road will enter the park.

Please see the Campbase map tab for the exact location.  You may need to change the maps zoom level to see the campground.

Fort Flagler State Park Upper Campground.  Forty-seven standard tent sites and two primitive sites are in the upper camping area. This area is suitable for tents and some sites can accommodate RV's up to 25 feet.  This campground is up on a bluff above the beach.  A few sites have a great view but most are back in the trees a bit.  The park has restrooms with showers and a small camp store with ice and firewood.  If you have a boat then this would be a good spot because of the launch ramp and boat docks.  Might also be a good launch spot for ocean kayaking.  The old fort is also located nearby with some bunkers and other items to explore.

If you are driving a big rig RV then this campground is a ways off the main roads however, it’s passable and worth the visit.

Local Recreation:

Boating and Kayaking.  It’s a good location for both with convenient access and berthing.  Views are spectacular.

Clamming and fishing are popular from this park.
