Green Valley Area Campground is open all year with approximately 80 RV and tent camp spots.  The park also has equestrian facilities for approximately 15.  The equestrian facilities include horse corrals.  Please see our photos tab for pictures.  Campbase estimates that big rigs up to 40 feet can be accommodated in some camp spots.  Although, the park appears to have a 30 foot RV limit.  Reservations can be made through reservecalifornia.com or through the state park link provided here on the right side.  The park has firewood available for $8 a bundle.  Most camp spots have large shade trees.  All campground roads are paved.  There is also a small campground store with the essentials including ice.

Local Recreation:

Just a few miles north of the campground is the small town of Julian.  It’s a great spot to spend the day walking around the shops and restaurants.  There are pie shops that usually make the best apple pies available.  Try Moms pie shop.  There are also shops selling honey, dried fruits, and apple cider.  There is something for the whole family.  Make sure you bring home some bread from the local bakeries.

Lake Cuyamaca has fishing and boating for small boats.  Swimming is not allowed in the lake but, there is a marina with small boat rentals.

The Anza Borrego Desert State Park is located approximately 25 miles from the campground.  It’s a great drive with interesting things to do in and around the park.  Please see our Anza Borrego Desert State Park Page for more details.
