From Weaverville, take State Route 3 north for 17.5 miles. Turn right on Hayward Flat Road and travel 2 miles.

Hayward Flat Campground is located approximately 20 miles north of Weaverville, 2 miles off of State Route 3 and is on the shores of Trinity Lake. Trinity Center is 9 miles north of Hayward Flat. Hayward Flat is easily one of the most popular campgrounds on Trinity Lake. It offers excellent lake access and plenty of shade. Sitting on one of the best arms of the lake for waterskiing, Hayward is favored by the watersports crowd. This is a 98 sites family campground with an amphitheater and limited day-use parking. Each campsite has a paved spur, table, and fireplace. The campground road is paved. Most campsites have bear proof food lockers.  The campground opens Memorial Day and closes October 31st.
