Comment

Lake Casitas Recreation Area.  The lake is drinking water so there is a "no body contact" policy in place for the water.  In 2016 during the Campbase visit to Lake Casitas the lake levels were extremely low.  Campgrounds that may have once been on the water are now almost a mile away.  See the photos tab for lake level pictures.  There are approximately 13 campgrounds in the recreation area.  Each campground is associated with a letter and name.  For example,"A"=Angeler, "B"=Bass, ETC.  There are also a few group sites available.  Campbase has documented each campground and provided links Below.

All the campgrounds above use the same entrance gate on Santa Ana Road.  A few campgrounds are near the entrance while others are a few miles inside the recreation area.  The best campgrounds for larger RV's needing full hookups or partial hookups are A, B, E, F, and I.  Campground F is closest to the campground store.  A and F have full hookups.  B, E, and I have electric and water only.  All other campgrounds are dry camping.  Note that some campgrounds are hilly with winding camp roads that are not suited for RV's.  Please see the list above.  The lake has two launch ramps however, the paved part of the ramps no longer reaches the water.

Boats between 11 and 26 feet are allowed on the lake.  The maximum speed limit on the lake is 40 MPH.  Canoes, kayaks, and some inflatable boats are allowed.  Boat rentals are available by calling (805) 649-2043.

The park has a bait and tackle shop along with a cafe and park store.  The park store has firewood, ice, drinks, and the basics are available.  A propane refill station is available at the camp store.  Drinking water is available in most park campgrounds.  There are two RV dump stations in the park.  There are also two launch ramps in the park although the pavement no longer reaches the water.  There is also a water park at the entrance to the recreation area.  The water park is seasional and may only be open during the summer months.  The park is located in a remote area with the closest town being Ojai, it's about 5 miles to the east.  Ojai has all the essential services including fuel and markets.

Most big rigs can be accommodated.  The park states that there is no rig maximum length.

Cellular service is excellent.
