California, Lake McClure Park is also known as McClure Point Campground

Directions:

From the small town of Snelling, take Merced Falls Road Eastbound for approximately 4 miles to the hard bend in the road.  Then take a right onto Hornitos Road.  Hornitos will take you to the park entrance in under one mile.  From the park entrance booth, proceed 9 miles Northbound up Lake McClure Road and you will see the campground entrance sign on the left side.

McClure Point Campground is part of the Merced Irrigation District(MID).  MID operates several lakes in the area.  This recreation area is shared with The Lake McSwain Recreation Area.  The campground has a few full hookup camp spots however, most sites are electric and water only or dry camping spots.  Camp spots have a view of the lake and direct access.  From some spots its a difficult walk down to the water.  Campground roads were all paved with parking pads being gravel.  There are two launch ramps near the campground but no marina.  Boats need to be beached, anchored near the shore, or hauled out during the evening.  The nearest marina is going to be Barrett Cove Marina.
