Lathrop State Park is open all year with two campgrounds available.  Yucca and Piñon campgrounds have 103 total Camp spots that can accommodate tens or trail RV's.  Yucca Campground is the smaller of the two campgrounds with just 21 dry Camp spots.  Yucca is designed for smaller RV's and tenting.  Drinking water and vault toilets ar available in Yucca.  Camp roads and pads are all dirt in Yucca Campground.  Most spots have shade trees.  A fire ring and covered picnic table are available in each spot.  Pinon  Campground is a larger campground with 82 RV or tent camp spots.  Restrooms, showers, and electric RV hookups are available.  Pinon Campground also has drinking water and a dump station.  All Camp roads and pads are paved.  Many Camp spots also have shade.  The campground does not have direct lake access.  The lakes are located approximately half a mile from the campgrounds.  The two lakes have a launch ramp for small boats and kayakers.  These are not large lakes, please see the Campbase photos tab for pictures.  Fishing and small fishing boats are popular on this lake.

A group campground is also available that can accommodate 7 RV's and tenting.  It's located right on the banks of the beach.  Spots have electricity available along with accommodations for large group activities.  Reservations are required and can be made by calling tel:719-738-2376.

There is also a bike path and hiking trails that pass through the campground.

The park also has a nine hole golf course with a restaurant.  The greens are excellent and the mountain views from the course ar spectacular.  Please see the Campbase pictures tab.

Most services are available in the nearby small town of Walsenburg.  It's located just three miles east of the campground at Interstate-25.  The town has fuel, restaurants, markets, banks, and services.
