Open all year with 124 tent or RV camp spots.  Group sites and hike/bike camp spots are also available.  A limited number of 30 RV hookup, pull through sites are available.  These sites have electric and water, no ceptic.  A dump station is located in the park.  The maximum trailer and RV legnth is 35 feet.  Many camp spots have shade trees.  Restrooms, showers, and drinking water are available in the campground.  Camp roads and parking pads are all paved.  Most camp spots are level.  The campground is located approximately one mile away from Morro Rock an iconic location for photography.  It's really in a great location for touring the area.  It's not the closest campground to Morro Rock or downtown but, still in a great location.  There is so much to do in Morro Bay, you will never be boared.

Reservations are made through Reserve America.  800-444-7275

Local Recreation:

The Morro Bay Trolley stops at the park entrance and travels to downtown and the marina in addition to numerous other locations. It's $1 a ride or $3 for an all day pass.  The trolley does not run during the winter months.  Campbase found the drivers to be very friendly and helpful.

The Morro Bay State Park Golf Course is located next to the campground.  An excellent way to spend part of the day.

Across from the campground is the Morro Bay State Park Marina.  There is a kayak rental service and a nice restaurant.  See the pictures tab for pictures.

Local Restaurants:  Campbase visited and liked the following restaurants.

The Coffee Pot Restaurant on Front street.  They had a great breakfast selection.  It had a welcoming family atmosphere.

The Lil Hut for fish and chips.  The fish was amazing and very large quantities.  We will definitely go back there.

The Pizza Pot at 787 Main Street in downtown Morro Bay.  Great place, we had a really fun time.  The pizza was a excellent.
