Directions:
 
From the San Diego Freeway (Interstate 5) take El Toro Rd East to Live Oak Canyon Rd. Turn right onto Live Oak Canyon Rd. (South) and proceed 3 miles to the Park Entrance that is on the right.  Total distance from the freeway is approximately 8 miles.

Comment

This campground is centrally located in Orange County.  It's in a nice area of Orange County.  There are no full hookups but, some camp spots do have water available.  The campground is close to horse riding trails and there is an equestrian center with camping inside the park.  Its great for those who love to get out with the horses for the weekend.  There is ice, wood, propain, and groceries at the general store just outside the park within walking distance.  There is also handicap camping spots available.  These spots are paved and very nice.  The restrooms and showers in the park are very clean.

Fire wood is available at the park office.
 
CAMPING REGISTRATION RULES
Check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out is at 12 p.m.. If your campsite is available, you may check in anytime after 7 a.m.
A maximum of two campsites per each general registration permitted for individual camping.
A maximum of eight people per campsite.
A maximum of two vehicles per site permitted (first vehicle included, second additional $5).
 
STAY LIMIT
Camping stay is limited to 15 days maximum per month for all Orange County Parks. This also includes all extra vehicles and companions.
 
IMPORTANT - If your camping party has 17 or more campers, you CAN NOT reserve individual campsites. You MUST camp in a group campsite. Please call the park to reserve a group site. 
 
Rules and Regulations 
 
The maximum number of motorized vehicles per campsite is two. A $5.00 per night fee will be assessed for the second vehicle upon check-in. 
 
No alchohol is allowed in O'Neill Park.
 
Where available, electricity should only be used for small appliances such as crockpots and coffee makers.
 
Only one trailer is allowed per campsite; only two tents are allowed per campsite. The maximum number of campers allowed per campsite is eight. 
 
All campers must be eighteen years of age or older or must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult. 
 
The Senior Discount applies to those who are 60 years of age or older. Only applies to the campsite occupied by the eligible person. Proof of age and identification required. Discounts are Non-Transferable. 
 
The maximum number of campsites an individual may reserve is two.
 
Check-in Time: 2:00 PM/Check-out Time: 12 Noon. 
 
Camping stays are limited to a combined total of fourteen nights/fifteen days per calendar month. 
 
A fee exemption is available for Distinguished Veterans including:
 
Veterans with a 50% or higher service connected disability
Prisoners of War
Recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor
A valid Distinguished Veteran Pass issued by the California Department of Parks and Rec.
A confirming letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Documentation/Proof of age or disability will be required at the time of check in to retain the discount.

The Rose Canyon Cantina and Grill is also just outside the park and a great place to eat.

Mountain lions are know to be in the area.
Ticks are also in the area during certain times of the year.
