Pasadena Rose Parade Camping.  Campbase has traveled through Pasadena documenting RV camping spots.  Unfortunately,  there are no "campgrounds" in the city of Pasadena(Read on).  During the Rose Parade parking lots are transformed into temporary campgrounds for RV parking and overnighting.  These are just parking lots where hookups and facilities are not available.  Most of these temporary campgrounds are within walking distance or right on the parade route.  They generally open on New Year's Eve and close on January 2nd.   Campbase found it confusing and difficult to find RV accommodations so we have placed this page here to help our users.

Not all camp spots are "parade view spots".  Some parking lots are on the parade route with a view while others may be a few blocks from the route.  In the later case you will still need to secure a viewing spot.  The city of Pasadena allows people to claim viewing space along the route starting at noon on New Year's Eve.  Put your chairs and blankets down to reserve your space.  Curb side viewing is First Come, First Served.

Pasadena Temporary Campgrounds:

Brookside Park RV Campground at the Rose Bowell.  (626) 577-3100.  Brookside is not on the parade route and is located approximately one mile from the starting point of the parade.  However, some of the parade floats are built in the parking lot near this temporary campground.  So, it's still a good spot to camp.

Easy Parking Service has RV parking lots along the route.  Phone: (626) 286-7576 or on the web at www.easyparkingservice.com.

Rose Parade RV Parking on Sierra Madre.  (626) 795-0008.  RV parking located near Victory Park at Sierra Madre and N. Orange Grove Blvd.

Free Street Parking:

Free street parking is available at some locations along the parade route.  Campbase does not recommend street parking.  It's difficult to get a good spot and there is a limited amount of time for getting into a spot.  These spots can not be reserved.  It's also difficult to park on the street because of all the cars parking there and the RV needs two consecutive vehicle spots.  The best street parking along the parade route starts at the intersection of Colorado Blvd. and Sierra Madre.  Running north on Sierra Madre, the parking is generally available up to Orange Grove Blvd.  Park on the South and East side of Sierra Madre.  The boulevard is divided in this area by a center median.  Parade floats use the West side of the highway.  RV's can park on the East side.  Parade viewers generally stand in the center median.  So, even though you can park on the route, the view is not that good.  RV's that park along the parade route are subject to being searched.  Please see the Campbase Photos Tab for pictures of street parking.

Campgrounds in the surrounding area:

Because there are no established campgrounds in Pasadena, Campbase has compiled a list of campgrounds in the surrounding communities.  Staying at one of these campgrounds will require you drive to the parade route.  Alternatively, you may want to search Campbase using a specific city.  Any of the following campgrounds would be a good choice:

East Shore RV Park is approximately 15 miles from Pasadena.  It's a great spot for large RV's and tenting.  Full hookups and restrooms are, available.

Fairplex RV Park Pomona KOA is 15-20 miles from Pasadena.  Full hookups are available and it's also located near the LA fairgrounds.

Golden Shores RV Resort is in a great location in Long Beach.  Great spot with full hookups and numerous restaurants within walking distance.

Anaheim Harbor RV Village is located just blocks from Disneyland.  Disneyland is located approximately 30 miles from Pasadena.

Additional Rose Parade information:

Rose Parade web site  https://www.tournamentofroses.com/  Tickets for events are available there.

Also see the Visit Pasadena web.  Www.visitpasadina.com

The Rose Parade is always held on the morning of January 1, at 8:00 unless that is a Sunday.  In that case, it's held the following day on the second of January.

The parade will take 2.5 to 3 hours to pass your location from first to last float.

Its a 5.5 mile route runnning east on Colorado Blvd and then Northeast on Sierra Madre.

Campbase recommends you watch the parade from the south side of Colorado Blvd so the sun is at your back and not in your face.

Grand stand seating is available near the start of the route and at different points along the route.  Most grand stand seating is not located within walking distance from a temporary campground.  Grand Stand seats can be purchased through Sharp Seating here:http://www.sharpseating.com/
