California, Tamarisk Grove Anza Borrego Desert State Park

Directions:

From  the traffic circle in downtown Borrego Springs, take Borrego Springs Road south.  After several miles, take a right turn onto Yaqui Pass.  Travel approximately 10 miles to just before the intersection of Highway 78.  The campground entrance will be on the left side.  

Note:  The campground does not have an address, the address used here is an approximation.  However, the Campbase map is accurate for the location of the campground.

Tamarisk Grove, Anza Borrego Desert State Park October 1 through May 31.  Spots are reservable from October 1 through April 30.  The busy season is during the winter.  The campgrond has 17 tent and 10 cabin camp spots located in a tamarisk grove.  Most camp spots have shade.  Camp roads and parking pads are all paved.  Pitch tents only, RV's are not allowed in the campground.  The campground does not have RV hookups.  Hiking is the primary activity from this campground.  This is a remote campground and there are no services within 10 miles.  Bring everything you will need.  The closest fuel and market is in Boreggo Springs.  There is no cell service no WiFi.

Local Recreation:
 
Road bicycling is excellent in Borrego Springs.  Borrego Springs is a bicycle friendly community.  Most roads in the area have bike lanes.  Roads past the campground are not good for road biking. 
 
Anza Borrego State Park has extensive hiking trails and wildlife viewing in the park.  In the spring there are wild flowers. 
 
Ocotillo Wells State Recreational Vehicle Area is just 15 from the campground.  The recreation area is popular for off-roading.
 
The Galleta Meadows area has an extensive collection of sculptures located along the highway.  Please see our photos tab for a few pictures.  The sculptures are located throughout the Borrego Springs area.
