Oregon, Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Campground

Directions:

The campground is located just 3 miles south of Reedsport off Highway 101.  From the small town of Winchester Bay travel south on Highway-101 for approximately one mile.  Go right onto Lighthouse Road and follow it around to the campground entrance.

Umpqua Lighthouse State Park Campground is open all year with yurts, cabins, tenting, hiker/biker, and RV camp spots.  Located on Lake Marie with water access.  Big rigs up the 56 feet can be accommodated.  Most camp spots have shad trees.  Full hookup camp spots and restrooms with showers are available.  The campground has access to the Oregon Sand Dunes for off-roading.  The campground and surrounding forest is spectacular.  

This campground does have mosquitoes.  Depending on the time of year, they can be quite a nuisance.  Campbase recommends a mosquito mesh hatinsect repellent, and a mosquito net awning to sit in.  If mosquitoes bother you, these items are essential for this location. 

Local Recreation:

Lake Marie boarders the campground.  The lake has fishing and kayaking available.

The campground is located approximately one mile from Umpqua Beach.  Umpqua Beach is a large wide sand beach, perfect for beachcombing.  Driftwood washes up on the sand.  Please see our photos tab for pictures.  

Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area.  The campground has direct access into the Oregon Sand Dunes making it the perfect spot for off-roading.  Please see our photos tab for pictures of the sand dunes. 

Umpqua River Lighthouse is located near the campground.  There is a small museum there with some exhibits to look through.

Winchester Point and the Umpqua River is located just a short distance from the campground.  The Salmon Harbor Marina has a launch ramp and boat slips available.  Fishing is the most popular activity from this location.  Charter boats are available
