Maine, Homestead by the River Campground

Directions:

 From I-95/Maine Turnpike:
 
Take Exit 36 Saco ~ Old Orchard Beach (formally exit 5)
Go through the toll booth Exit 36.   Keep to the right hand side and take Exit 1, to the Industrial Park Road.   As you come down the ramp, you will come to a traffic light.  Turn left onto Industrial Park Road.  At the set of lights, take a right onto North Street/Route 112 North, go over turnpike.  Follow Route 112 North for 2.6 miles.  At the end of a long white fence on your left, take a left onto Louden Road.  Follow Louden Road until you come to a stop sign.  At the stop sign, take a right onto Route 5 North (also called New County Road).  As you come down the hill and over the Saco River bridge, the campgrouns is the first driveway on the right.  Look for the big BLUE & WHITE sign and white fencing.

Homestead by the River Campground is the quintessential down east Maine Campground.  Easily accessible from the I-95 freeway near Kennebunk and Portland Maine.  Located on the banks of the Saco River, the campground has 43 RV and Tent sites available in a wooded and green pasture area (please see the pics).  Camp roads are crushed rock while parking pads are green grass for most sites.  Homestead is a family focused campground.  It's a great camping place for kids.  Kayaking is popular from the campground and kayak rentals are available.  The campground has a good kayak launching beach.  Most camp spots have shade trees.

The campground is approximately five miles from the I-95 with easy access for big rigs.  The location is very central for accessing the numerous points of interest in Maine.  

Fish in the river include small mouth bass, rainbow trout, brook trout, pickeral, cat fish, sunfish and eels.

WiFi is available at the camp office. 

RV pump out service is available.  

RV storage is available at the campground.

Horse boarding is available nearby.
