Description

California, Aspen Campground.  The campground is near Lee Vining and near the back entrance to Yosemite National Park.  The campground is located on Lee Vining Creek.  Aspen Campground is in the Inyo National Forest. 

Directions:

From Highway-395 in the small town of Lee Vining, take Highway-120 and go West.  After a mile or two, take a left onto the Poole Power Plant access road and then a quick right onto Poole Power Plant Road.  There is a sign there that points to the campground.  Proceed Westbound for two additional miles.  The campground entrance will be on the left side.

Aspen Campground is a seasional campground closing in the winter.  This is an active bear area, store food properly.  The campground can accommodate tenting and RV's up to 40 feet.  However, Campbase recommends RV's no larger than 32 feet.  The campground is at 7,490 feet.  Most camp spots are shaded.  The campground is located on Lee Vining Creek with approximately 5 spots having direct river access.  Some spots do not have shade trees and would be a good choice when using Starlink.  Large trees do block the Starlink signal.  Campground roads and parking pads are all dirt and can be dusty.  Pets were allowed in the campground.  This campground is right outside(8miles) the Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park and might be a good choice of places to stay when visiting Yosemite.  

Fishing on the small stream passing the campground is a popular activity when visiting this campground.
