Description

California, Moraine Campground is located near Tioga Pass and the Eastern entrance to Yosemite National Park.  Part of the Inyo National Forest.

Directions:

From the small town of Lee Vining on Highway-395 take Highway-120 and go westbound for approximately 2.5 miles.  Take a left onto Poole Power Plant Road.  On Poole Power Plant Road travel eastbound and the road will end at the campground.

Not to be confused with Moraine Campground in Sequoia National Park.

Moraine Campground is located on Lee Vining Creek with 25 RV and tent camp spots.  This is an overflow campground.  Two portable toilets were available.  No drinking water.  This is an active bear area, be bear aware.  Mono Lake is located just a short distance from the campground.  Small RV's and trailers recommended.  The road to the campground is paved however, campground roads and parking pads are all dirt.  It can be dusty.  Its a good overflow camping location when Yosemite National Park is full.  Many camp spots are along the creek with shade trees.  Other spots are in direct sunlight.  Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and bear box.  Be aware of bears in the area.  There is no cell service at the campground.
