Description

California, Butte Lake Campground (elevation 6,100 feet) is located in the northeastern section of Lassen Volcanic National Park.  

Direction:

From Redding, California drive 63 miles east on State Highway 44 to Old Station. From the intersection of 44 and State Highway 89, continue east on 44 for 11 miles. Watch for sign to Butte Lake Campground. Turn right and continue for six miles on a rough gravel road.

Note:  the campground does not have an address.  

Comment

Butte Lake Campground Lassen National Park.  The campground is located within walking distance from Butte Lake.  The campground is seasonal being open from 6/5/15 - 10/27/15, weather permitting.  There are 101 RV and tent camp spots are available.  RV's up to 35 feet can be accommodated in large pull-around camp spots.  Most camp spots have shade trees. Reservations can be made at www.recreation.gov or by calling 877-444-6777.  Motor boats are not allowed on Butte Lake(Creek). 

Local Recreation:

Recreation on Butte Lake, fishing, kayaking.  The lake is a bit small for large boats.

Cinder Cone hike and lava beds volcanic field.  Great day hike from the campground.
